Saint Charbel Makhlouf - print/poster

Saint Charbel Makhlouf was a Maronite monk from Lebanon. Born in 1828, St. Charbel dedicated his life to God. He always wanted to be a hermit, he was really introverted and extremely humble. Actually, he never allowed a picture of him to be taken.

He is an incredible miracle-worker, both while alive and after his passing. During his lifetime, hoards of both Christians and Muslims would come to visit St. Charbel from all across Mount Lebanon. He irradiated God's comfort, love and compassion to all. Everything from miraculous healings to oil lamps being lit although having no oil but water inside them... All of that was attributed to St. Charbel while alive.

St. Charbel had a stroke while giving Mass, and kept repeating the words of the Mass until his death in 1898. From his tomb, light began pouring out. When they exhumed his body, they were shocked to find it incorrupt and emanating blood and oil.

He is said to appear in dreams and heal the sick who ask for his intercession. He has even been spotted around East Lebanon. Appearing amongst other monks, or even blessing pilgrims that go visit the Cave of the Monks.

Let's humbly ask St. Charbel, miracle-worker, to pray for his Levant. For Lebanon and Palestine. For all those suffering under the rubble and tyranny. Amen.
